Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To teach the definition and importance of ergonomics for oral and dental health techniques and to promote four-handed dentistry.
Course Content: Definition and history of ergonomics in dentistry, ergonomic risk factors and precautions to be taken, occupational diseases in dentistry, definition and principles of four-handed dentistry, the role of oral and dental health technicians during oral work.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Able to define ergonomics in dentistry.
2) Able to understand ergonomic risk factors in dentistry.
3) Able to distinguish occupational diseases.
4) Able to understand the basic principles and application methods of four-handed dentistry.
5) Able to provide the ideal working environment for the dentist while working in the mouth.
