Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The main purpose of this course is; To explain the principles of movement of the extremities. In addition, it is aimed to provide information about the normal kinesiological and biomechanical properties and pathomechanics of the locomotor system.
Course Content: This lesson; Fundamentals of movement and structure of the human body-I, Fundamentals of movement and structure of the human body-II, Mechanical properties and pathokinetics of tissues in the body-I, Mechanical properties and pathokinetics of tissues in the body-II, Upper extremity kinesiology, shoulder complex and arm mechanics, Upper extremity kinesiology, elbow and hand mechanics, Lower extremity kinesiology, pelvis and hip mechanics, Lower extremity kinesiology, knee and foot/ankle mechanics, Columna vertebralis mechanics and pathomechanics, cervical spine, Columna vertebralis mechanics and pathomechanics, thoracic spine, Columna vertebralis mechanics and pathomechanics, lumbar spine, Posture, balance and center of gravity, Gait analysis, normal gait, kinetic and kinematic analysis of normal gait, Pathological gait, kinetic and kinematic analysis of pathological gait; Includes topics.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Explains the laws of motion by defining the basic concepts related to biomechanics
2) Explains the mechanics and pathokinetics of tissues in the body
3) Explains the biomechanics of the upper extremity, lower extremity and columna vertebralis.
4) Evaluates posture and explains pathological conditions
