Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of the course is to evaluate the clinical features of central and peripheral nervous system diseases, the assessment methods used in neurological rehabilitation, and the physiotherapy rehabilitation approaches.
Course Content: It covers the topics of physiotherapy rehabilitation approaches for infectious, vascular, traumatic, degenerative, and idiopathic diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Ability to discuss the clinical features of neurological diseases.
2) Ability to inquire about the symptoms of central and peripheral nervous system diseases
3) Ability to discuss the assessments used in neurological rehabilitation
4) Ability to make clinical decisions aimed at solving problems specific to neurological diseases
5) Ability to determine physiotherapy methods for the treatment of neurological diseases
6) Ability to play an active role in the treatment of neurological diseases

5) Rehabilitation approaches in extrapyramidal system diseases: Parkinson's
6) Rehabilitation approaches in extrapyramidal system diseases: Multiple Sclerosis
7) Coordination disorders, assessment, Frenkel coordination exercises
8) Congenital diseases of the central nervous system: Spina bifida, Hydrocephalus
9) Degenerative diseases of the central nervous system: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Alzheimer's
10) Evaluation in neuromuscular diseases
11) Rehabilitation approaches in neuromuscular diseases
12) Central nervous system infectious diseases: Polio, Guillain-Barre syndrome, Transverse Myelitis, Meningitis-Encephalitis
13) Peripheral nerve injuries: facial nerve, brachial plexus, thoracic spinal nerves, lumbosacral plexus general anatomy review, injuries, evaluation, implementation of physiotherapy rehabilitation methods
