1) Doğum öncesinden başlayarak yaşam boyu değişim ve sabitlikleri izleyen gelişim psikolojisi alanını ve temel kuramlarını açıklayabilmeli
2) Bebeklik, erken çocukluk, okul öncesi evrelerini biyolojik, davranışsal, bilişsel ve psikososyal gelişim açısından karşılaştırabilmeli
3) Kişilik gelişimini farklı kuramlar çerçevesinde analiz edebilmeli
4) Farklı gelişim dönemlerindeki bireylerin kişilik gelişimlerini tartışabilmeli
5) Anormal ya da patolojik sorunları farkettiğinde, bu sorunların gelişimin hangi dönemlerinde, hangi ilişki düzeyinde nasıl etkiler ile oluşmuş olabildiğine dair yorum yapabilmeli, çocuk çevre-aile ilişkisinin bu sorunlar ile ilişkisini kurabilmeli
