Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to introduce students to theories of personality. At the end of the course, it is aimed that the students will understand and evaluate the factors affecting personality within the personality theories and in this context, have knowledge about the development of psychopathology.
Course Content: The content of this course, personality and basic concepts, psychoanalytic theory, analytical psychology, individual psychology, interpersonal relations theory, psychoanalytic social theory, humanistic approach theories, ego theory, object relations theory, attachment theory, behaviorist and cognitive theory, classical behavior theory, psychoanalytic behaviorist theory and social cognitive theory.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Know what personality is, how it is formed, and the influencing factors.
2) Know how different personality theories explain personality.
3) Know how personality theories explain the normal development of personality and psychopathology
4) Can explain the nature and origins of personality based on theories
5) Can understand, interpret, compare and criticize personality theories scientifically
