Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Understand the mission of periodontology and its current role in oral health, based on personal education, development and ethics.
2) Evaluation of the periodontium, diagnosis of diseases, prognosis, treatment planning and evaluation of treatment results and to have the knowledge to create the protocol of appropriate treatment for the maintenance of the condition achieved at the end of treatment.
3) In order to provide appropriate oral hygiene education to the patient and to be successful in motivation, the patient should be able to communicate with the patient with appropriate behaviors and approaches, perform supragingival and subgingival tooth surface cleaning and Being proficient in using both ultrasonic instruments and hand instruments in root planing procedures
4) Being aware of the principles on which the treatment procedures are based, being able to decide on the use of antimicrobial drugs for the agent and choosing the appropriate antimicrobial.
5) To know the primary and secondary periodontal etiologic factors, to understand the role of systemic diseases, to have sufficient knowledge about the necessity of advanced periodontal surgical procedures and to have a be able to ensure referral to a specialist
