Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To provide students with hands-on experience in the field of pharmacy, develop their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, and enhance their professional skills by working in a pharmacy environment.






Course Content: Pharmacy Operations and Drug Management (Learning pharmacy layout and basic terminology, Identifying and procuring missing medications, Expiry date tracking and ITS system)
Prescription and Drug Procurement Processes (Reading and fulfilling prescriptions, Emergency drug procurement processes, Different prescription types and recording systems)
Use of Computer and Communication Systems (Rx Media Pharma and reimbursement agency systems, Pharmacy communication programs (inventory control, etc.))
Patient Communication and Compounding Prescription Preparation (Conveying patient communication and usage instructions, Preparation and presentation of simple compounded prescriptions)

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Observes the pharmacy environment and gains knowledge about pharmacy layout.
2) Recognizes and learns how to use the computer programs in the pharmacy.
3) Observes, learns, and applies basic behaviors related to greeting patients, communication, and service.
4) Observes the evaluation of prescriptions and assists in the preparation of medications.
