Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to explain the metabolism of biochemical molecules and to reveal the relationship of the parameters in metabolism with diseases and clinics, as well as to teach the differential diagnosis of diseases and the qualitative and quantitative determination of biochemical parameters. This course include Importance of clinical biochemistry, Water sodium and potassium balance, Globular and fibrous proteins and their relations with diseases, Types of hemoglobin structure and anemia, Carbohydrate metabolism disorders, Lipid metabolism disorders, Cardiovascular diseases, Plasma proteins, Enzyme activities and their importance in diseases, Liver function and disorders, the topics of calcium phosphate and magnesium balance.
Course Content: 1. To be able to associate the causes of diseases with clinical diagnosis. 2. Evaluate clinical analysis reports. 3. To be able to give information about the biochemical mechanism of drugs used in patients and to be able to guide patients.
4. Examine the relationship between the functions of biomolecules and metabolic disorders
5. Identify risk factors for diseases related to metabolic disorders
6. understand the relationship between the formation of diseases and the metabolism of biochemical molecules
7. To be able to learn differential diagnosis of diseases and determination of biochemical parameters related to diseases
8. To be able to learn how biochemical parameters affect diseases
