Course Objectives: |
The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills about the roles and responsibilities of the operating room nurse, patient care management in the operating room, preparation of the operating room environment, current practices in the operating room, patient and employee safety, ethical principles and legal processes in line with AORN standards and current guidelines. |
Course Content: |
Introduction to operating room nursing, standards in operating room nursing, safety precautions in the operating room, nursing care in the operating room, asepsis, sterilization, basic surgical instruments, documentation. |
