Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To introduce contemporary career planning methods compatible with real life problems in the rapidly changing economic, social, cultural, ethical and legal conditions of the business world and to enable students to adapt them to their own lives. Career Planning is a problem-solving and decision-making process that aims to establish the most appropriate relationship between employees' values and needs and their work experiences and opportunities. It creates employees who can predict their future, know what awaits them, determine their goals accordingly, are highly motivated and dedicate themselves to their work. In this course students; It helps them to make a career planning compatible with their future goals by enabling them to gain awareness
about their interests, personal characteristics and values.
Course Content: This course consists of the definition of career and the importance of career planning and development, career development models, career management systems, evaluation of career management systems, career management in terms of individuals and organizations, roles of employees, managers and HR specialists in career management, special cases in career management: older workers, both working families, career plateau, skills aging, home and work balance and unlimited career.
