Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To teach clinical and radiological features of soft and hard tissue traumas in the maxillofacial region.
To teach the classification and etiology of maxillofacial region traumas.
To teach diagnosis and treatment planning of maxillofacial fractures.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Knows the Etiology, Incidence and Pathophysiology of Maxillofacial Trauma. Knows the tools to be used for diagnosis and can perform clinical radiological examination.
2) Defines Soft Tissue Injuries, mandibular fractures, condyle fractures, midface fractures and zygomaticomaxillary complex fractures, knows their findings, diagnoses, and can plan treatment.
