Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to define the effect of nutritional changes on the immune system and discuss the causes and symptoms of food allergies and intolerances in the light of current literature.
Course Content: This course includes defining the impact of nutritional changes on the immune system, the causes and symptoms of food allergies and intolerances.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Ability to follow resources containing basic and current information in the field
2) Ability to discuss how nutrient deficiency, excess, or nutrient imbalance can affect the immune system
3) Ability to explain the effects of prebiotics and probiotics on the immune system
4) Understanding the difference between acute and chronic inflammation
5) Ability to explain the relationship between nutrition and inflammation in nutrition-related chronic diseases
