Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: It is aimed to convey the awareness of disasters and disaster situations that exist throughout the world and whose impact is increasing day by day, informing individuals about the behavior patterns in extreme situations and social organization, giving information about the basic concepts of disaster, the precautions to be taken and various types of disasters, natural or artificial disaster situations. It is aimed to create awareness of disaster culture and to be prepared and conscious of the student and his/her environment.
Course Content: This course includes creating disaster awareness, disaster types and their contents, behavior patterns in relevant situations, preparedness and precautions, individual and social awareness and response issues.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to intervene in the social memory and the individual on the relevant issue when necessary for the student.
2) Being able to protect herself/himself, her/his family and her/his environment.
3) To be competent to raise awareness of herself/himself, her/his family and her/his environment.
