Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: Main objective is to teach the basic concepts of organic chemistry, the structure and properties of organic compounds, their production methods and reactions.
Course Content: Introduction to organic chemistry, recognition and naming of functional groups,
stereochemistry, isomerism, classification of organic compounds, their properties, preparation
and reactions.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Recognize certain organic compounds and comment on their structures
2) Discuss various chemical properties of organic compounds
3) Recognize the functional groups and name organic compounds
4) Have knowledge about certain groups of organic compounds
5) Have knowledge about properties and synthesis methods of organic compounds
6) Have knowledge about reactions of organic compounds
7) Recognize organic compounds having biological importance, discuss their structures
