Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: This course aims to inform pharmacy students about cells and organs of the immune system, types and mechanisms of immune response, diagnosis and treatment of immune system disorders and autoimmune diseases and to evaluate current studies about this topic.
Course Content: The purpose of the course is to inform about the types and mechanisms of the immune response, diagnosis, and treatment of immune system disorders and autoimmune diseases, and to evaluate current studies. This course contains the topics of the immune system tissue and organs, natural and acquired immune mechanisms, the properties of antigens and antibodies, diagnostic immunology, hypersensitivity reactions, immune tolerance, immune deficiency, autoimmune diseases, immune-modulating drugs, tumor and transplantation immunology, and vaccines.
