Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To give information about the basics of public health, important health problems, methods of prevention from diseases and to gain a public health perspective to health problems.
Course Content: Introduction to public health, basic concepts and definitions of the subjects of this course, basic epidemiology, environmental health and waste management, basic health services, hazards and risks of health workers, infectious diseases, noncommunicable diseases, sexual health, family members, maternal and women's health, child health. , immunization, polypharmacy and drug interactions, rational drug use, pandemics and society.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to define explain general concepts related to public health
2) To be able to define communicable and non-communicable diseases
3) To be able to explain the epidemiology of diseases, prevention and control measures
4) Should be able to explain the role of pharmacists in the protection of public health
