Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: In the part of the course that includes roof and chimneys, roof and chimney design, construction principles and types, construction of components from rough construction to fine construction and solution of problems; In the section of the course that covers the subject of joinery, basic information and principles regarding the subject, as well as problem solving and solution approaches are given. While solving the problems, it is also aimed to develop the awareness that the work done is a part of the architecture of the building and should be evaluated within the structure as a whole.
Course Content: Roof definitions and concepts, pitched roof systems, covering and endings, terrace roofs, principles and approaches in joinery design, joinery tools, types of frames and wings, their relationships, functions of doors and windows, classifications, problems in wall cavities and solution principles.
