Course Objectives: | The purpose of this course is to inform pharmacy students about the medical devices used in the field of pharmacy. This course also introduces the medical devices that are frequently used medically through case studies in light of the relevant legislation. |
Course Content: | 1. Basic information about medical devices 2. Classification of medical devices 3. Regulations and regulations regarding medical devices 4. Product safety in medical devices 5. Sales, promotion and advertising activities of medical devices 6. Registration processes of medical devices (ÜTS) 7. Raw materials used in medical devices (medical plastics, polymers and adhesives) 8. Midterm exam 9. Needle, cannula and catheters 10. Medical devices used in the cardiovascular field 11. Medical devices used in the pulmonary field 12. Medical devices used in diabetes 13. Care materials used for wound care and hygiene 14. Orthoses and Prostheses 15. Medical devices used for diagnostic purposes |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Learns national and international regulations regarding medical materials and products. 2) Gains knowledge about medical supplies or products available in pharmacies and hospitals. 3) Have basic knowledge about the use of basic medical products or devices (sphygmomanometer, glucometer, prosthesis, orthosis, dressing materials, etc.) and their introduction to the user. 4) Gains the ability to follow innovations and developments in medical device technologies. |
