Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide information about the structural and functional changes that occur in disease states involving the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, nervous and musculoskeletal systems.
Course Content: This course consists of a total of 7 Boards:

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Develop clinical problem solving, clinical reasoning and assessment skills by combining biomedical, clinical, social and humanities knowledge, Define the structural and functional changes that occur in infectious diseases, Explain the effects, mechanisms of action, side effects, doses and drug interactions of drugs used in the treatment of diseases, Define the pathogenesis of infectious diseases and interpret laboratory results in common infectious diseases, To be able to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that cause disease in humans, to have an idea about the differential diagnosis of infectious diseases, Must know the basics of physical examination, be able to detect normal and abnormal findings.
2) Define the structural and functional changes that occur in neoplasia and hematopoietic diseases. Explain the effects, mechanisms of action, side effects, doses and drug interactions of drugs used in the treatment of diseases. To be able to define the pathogenesis of neoplasia and hematopoietic diseases, to interpret the laboratory results of common diseases. Must be able to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that cause disease, have an idea about the differential diagnosis of diseases Must know the basics of physical examination, be able to detect normal and abnormal findings Should be able to know and interpret laboratory tests used in the diagnosis of neoplasia and hematopoietic diseases.
3) To be able to explain medical and surgical treatment options in cardiovascular system diseases. Explain the principles of radiological diagnosis, nuclear medicine and radiation oncology. Should be able to know and interpret laboratory tests used in the diagnosis of cardiovascular system diseases. To be able to explain the genetic mechanisms underlying diseases, to define hereditary diseases
4) To be able to describe the structural and functional changes that occur in the gastrointestinal and metabolic processes. Explain the effects, mechanisms of action, side effects, doses and drug interactions of drugs used in the treatment of diseases. To be able to define the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal and metabolic diseases, to interpret the laboratory results of common diseases. Must be able to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that cause disease, have an idea about the differential diagnosis of diseases Must know the basics of physical examination, be able to detect normal and abnormal findings Should be able to know and interpret laboratory tests used in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases and metabolic disorders.
5) To be able to describe the structural and functional changes that occur in diseases of the nervous and musculoskeletal system, To be able to explain the effects, mechanisms of action, side effects, doses and drug interactions of drugs used in the treatment of diseases, To be able to define the pathogenesis of nervous and musculoskeletal system diseases, to interpret the laboratory results of common diseases, To be able to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that cause disease, to have an idea about the differential diagnosis of diseases, Must know the basics of physical examination, be able to detect normal and abnormal findings, Should be able to know and interpret laboratory tests used in the diagnosis of nervous and musculoskeletal system diseases.
6) To be able to describe the structural and functional changes that occur in endocrine and urogenital system diseases, To be able to explain the effects, mechanisms of action, side effects, doses and drug interactions of drugs used in the treatment of diseases, To be able to define the pathogenesis of endocrine and urogenital system diseases, to interpret the laboratory results of common diseases, To be able to identify bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that cause disease, to have an idea about the differential diagnosis of diseases, Must know the basics of physical examination, be able to detect normal and abnormal findings, Explain the general characteristics of the endocrine system and the mechanisms of action of hormones; be able to describe the clinical conditions and diseases caused by excess and deficiency of hormones. Know and interpret laboratory tests used in the diagnosis of endocrine and urogenital system diseases.
7) To be able to define primary health care services and preventive medicine principles, Explain the principles of public health, describe the methods used in the surveillance of diseases and the basics of epidemiology, Know the basics of forensic autopsy and define the principles of forensic medicine, To be able to define the principles of family medicine, to understand the role of family medicine in the protection of health at the individual and social level, Be able to describe emergencies and perform basic first aid practices in the adult and pediatric population.
