Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to understand the infections/diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, to provide basic pathology, microbiology and pharmacology knowledge, to contribute to the learning of general pharmacological properties and clinical use principles of drugs related to systems pharmacology. In addition, to gain research skills for research in medical microbiology, medical pathology and medical pharmacology.
Course Content: MICROBIOLOGY: Giving basic information about medically important bacteria, viruses and parasites and procedures for recognition in laboratories
PATHOLOGY: To convey the pathogenesis of diseases, macroscopic and microscopic appearance of lesions, the relationship between morphological findings and prognostic parameters of diseases, morphological findings related to staging and morphological and genetic findings that guide treatment and to gain knowledge about sending the right material
PHARMACOLOGY: General definitions and concepts in pharmacology, general pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic information about drugs, routes of drug administration, adverse effects, placebo, drug interactions and new drug development stages
