Course Objectives: | The aim is to equip students with the ability to design equipment, processes, and facilities. |
Course Content: | Introduction to Process and Plant Design / Chemical Process Flow Diagrams: Structure and Synthesis of Flow Diagrams, Tracking of Chemical Substances Throughout the Process Flow Diagram / Mass and Energy Balances / Process Equipment Design: Selection and Sizing of Process Equipment, Reactors, Process Equipment for Fluid Transport, Heat Transfer Equipment, and Mass Transfer Equipment / Computer-Aided Design Project Work - Written and Oral Presentation of the Project Report. |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) The ability to use the mathematics, fundamental science, and engineering knowledge they have learned during chemical engineering education to carry out any process design. 2) The skill to analyze and design a system and a process using modern techniques and tools, to create, follow, and evaluate a chemical process flow diagram. 3) The ability to conduct research on a process and equipment-related topic, to use databases and other sources of information 4) The ability to sustain individual and group work 5) The ability to prepare technical reports and to communicate in written and oral form |
