Course Objectives: | It is aimed to teach the laws and principles related to the basic states of matter, to examine the effect of the structure of the matter on its behavior and properties, and to understand the determination of the unknown properties of the matter from its known and measurable properties. The application of thermodynamic laws and principles to pure substances and mixtures, explaining the reasons for the macroscopic properties of these systems in terms of thermodynamic functions, finding out the kinetic principles and reaction rates, the reaction mechanism, and the types and relative amounts of the products. |
Course Content: | Properties of Ideal Gas, Kinetic Theory of Ideal Gas, Intermolecular Forces, Real Gases, General Properties and Structure of Liquids and Solids, Surface Phenomena, Relationships Between Macroscopic Properties and Structure. Portable Features Phase Equilibrium, Solutions, Equilibrium Between Condensed Phases Chemical Kinetic Principe |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Learns basic physical chemistry concepts and knows how to apply basic relations. 2) Can determine the conditions necessary for chemical reactions. 3) Can calculate the physicochemical properties of substances. 4) Can understand chemical events depending on the structures of molecules. 5) Gains the knowledge and skills to determine optimum conditions to obtain the highest efficiency from chemical processes. 6) It can improve the ability to think at the molecular level. |
