Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to define the concept of design management by examining the tools in the product design and development process, the analysis of business and strategy models and the design competencies of companies through examples. The design management course covers the examination of examples of the use of industrial product design as a competitive tool by companies in the global market and economy.
Course Content: This course covers the basic concepts and practices of project management processes. Students learn the stages of project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure. Knowledge areas such as scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communication, risk and supply management are covered. Tools and software used in project management are introduced and practical exercises are carried out with real world examples and case studies. Students will develop their project management skills and enhance their teamwork and leadership competences.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Can establish and understand the relationship between industrial design and other environmental design disciplines.
2) To be able to investigate the methods of defining the design problem and to be informed about systematic problem solving methods.
3) Can explain the contents of design processes in industrial product design.
4) To be able to develop research and observation skills.
5) Discuss the theoretical, theoretical approaches to explain the situations they may encounter in every field of professional practice and establish theoretical approaches.
