Course Objectives: | The objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of mold making. Students will learn to understand mold making processes, design molds, and acquire the technical techniques required for mold manufacturing. |
Course Content: | Introduction to Mold Making Definition and importance of mold making in the industry Overview of mold making processes Mold Materials and Properties Selection and properties of mold materials Influence of metallurgical processes on mold making Mold Design Fundamentals of mold design Utilization of CAD software for mold design Mold Manufacturing Processes and methods of mold manufacturing Manufacturing of casting and injection molds Mold Maintenance and Repair Importance of mold maintenance and techniques Steps and methods for mold repair Mold Testing and Quality Control Mold testing and quality control processes Ensuring compliance of mold production with quality standards Mold Safety Safety measures during mold processing Management of risks associated with mold usage Project Work: Sample Mold Design Students will be assigned a mold design project Students will design and present a mold based on the given project |
The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Understanding Mold Material Selection and Properties: Students will understand different mold materials and factors influencing material selection. Mold Design Proficiency: Students will be able to design simple molds by grasping basic mold design principles. Application of Mold Manufacturing Techniques: Students will gain practical experience by learning the necessary techniques for mold manufacturing. Mold Maintenance and Repair: Students will be able to perform basic maintenance and repair operations by understanding the importance of mold maintenance and repair. Quality Control and Safety Standards: Students will be able to produce molds that comply with quality standards by learning quality control methods. Additionally, they will understand safety measures in mold processing. Effective Presentation of Projects and Communication Skills: Students will gain the ability to effectively present their projects and communicate with colleagues. These outcomes will enable students to acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in mold making and be successful in this field after graduation. |
