Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To give general information about the structure, properties, design, production and usage areas of composite materials.
Course Content: Classification of composite materials, contents, fabrication techniques, micro and macro analysis methods, mechanical properties, processability, applications, nanocomposites, experimental design, production, modeling and statistical applications.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Have information about the content, classification and general properties of composite materials.
2) Knows the mechanical properties, machinability and manufacturing methods of composite materials.
3) Have the knowledge to perform structural changes and micro/macro analyzes of composites depending on the production method.
4) Have general knowledge about how to make experimental designs and modeling of composites and can make suggestions about how to produce the most suitable composite structure with the desired properties through optimization.
