Course Objectives: | The most common type of non-detachable connection is the welded connection. In this course, welding types and application areas will be examined in detail. Their advantages and disadvantages relative to each other and other connection types will be examined. |
Course Content: | Brief introduction to material characterization, phase diagrams and heat treatments – Effect of Cooling Rates on the Weld Zone in Welding of Allotropic Materials – Welding of Shaped Materials of Non-Allotropic Materials – Welding of Alloptropic and Shaped Materials – Electric Resistance Welding – Gas Melting Welding – Electric Arc Welding – Argon Arc Welding – Plasma Welding – SIGMA Welding – CO2 Shielding Gas Welding – Submerged Arc Welding – Electro-Slag Welding – Cold Press Welding – Friction Welding – Ultrasonic Welding – Diffusion Welding – Electron Beam Welding – Thermite Welding – Laser Welding |

1) They have knowledge of Welding Metallurgy, Welding Defects, Ways to Prevent Defects, and Welding Technologies. 2) They have the basic professional terminology and knowledge that Metallurgical and Materials Engineers will need in business life. 3) They have the ability to reveal the properties needed in the production and use of materials. 4) They have the ability to learn the sources of Different Types of Materials and the problems that may arise during these sources and to find appropriate solutions to the problems. 5) They have knowledge about the selection and application of the appropriate welding method in the welding of materials. |
