Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: This course has been prepared so that students can better understand biology. General Biology Laboratory I course is a practice-based course. Within the scope of this course, it is aimed to first introduce the materials used in laboratories and the light microscope. The opportunity to practice in the light microscope will enable students to better understand the concept of cells. Additionally, while the concept of energy will be given in practice, mitosis and meiosis will be examined in detail.
Course Content:

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Ability to define the parts of the light microscope and examine living things with the light microscope
2) Ability to examine cell organelles at the light microscope level and obtain and discuss basic theoretical and practical knowledge about cell biology.
3) Being able to distinguish between cell divisions and chromosomes as a preparation for basic genetics topics.
4) Learning the fine structure of the cell with electron micrographs
5) Learning and examining preparation preparation using biological material
