Recognition of the former education process is one of the fundamental characteristics of Turkish Education System. Candidates placed at institutions of higher education by Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center could possibly register by means of submitting diplomas received from institutions of secondary education.
Those students who are registered for the first time at associate, undergraduate or graduate programs or Translation Science Department or Foreign Languages Department Programs with the language of education in a foreign language either partially or in full, are subjected to such foreign language level determination and/or competence exam (YDBS) organized at the beginning of the matriculated academic year.
In the event students registering before the University for the first time take part in immunity and foreign language exam conducted in our University at the start of the academic year and become successful, they are exempted and held immune from the Foreign Language Preparatory Class. Students who receive passing grades from these exams are exempted from the relevant course and such grade is entered in the relevant student’s transcript.
Those placed in any undergraduate program as a result of the Vertical Transfer Exam organized by the Republic of Turkey, Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center are matriculated and registered by the Registrar’s (Student Affairs) Office on such dates announced by ÖSYM and upon submitting the required documents.
Students applying with incomplete or invalid documents are not registered. Istanbul Health & Technology University is authorized to proceed with any necessary legal actions concerning those candidates registering upon making non-factual statements. Those failing to register within the term granted, are deemed having waived from their rights to matriculate before the university.
Registration process is made by the respective candidate in person. However, those having any valid and rightful excuse and duly documenting such excuse are entitled to have their registrations be made through their legal attorneys within the same registration term. Documents sent via mail are not accepted and matriculation is not concluded.
Under scope of “Regulation Regarding Principles For Institutions Of Higher Education Concerning Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Level Programs, Double Major, Sub-Branch (Minor Specialty) and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer”, student admissions are made via lateral/internal transfer under central placement exam made by ÖSYM in parallel to the principles set forth and specified by the University’s Senate, inter-institutional lateral transfer from other institutions of higher education to equivalent programs of our University, whereas intra-institution lateral transfer from and to equivalent level programs of the University. In parallel to the same principles, in case students fulfill the necessary conditions required, they are able to matriculate before double major and sub (minor) branch programs.
Education recognition for exchange students
Students are places in universities by their department coordinators taking into account the Erasmus scores received, language score as well as conditions listed under Erasmus Convention. Faculty coordinators advise to the International Programs Coordination the universities that students are placed at.
Students of our University to go abroad are required to fill-in together with the department coordinator, the Application Form together with such Learning Agreement document exhibiting the courses to be taken at the university to be visited.
Students taking part in Erasmus exchange program are required to deliver Istanbul Health & Technology University at the end of the relevant academic year their transcripts corresponding to the courses taken.
ECTS – Istanbul Health & Technology University credit and grade conversions are made by the board of directors of the relevant unit by taking into consideration the values on “Istanbul Health & Technology University - ECTS Grade Conversion Chart”.
