Aim of the Programme

It is to train Occupational Therapists who create the right model for service, education, research, and professional development, adhere to ethical principles, make evaluations specific to the occupational therapy profession, and plan and implement them. Occupational Therapy (Occupational Therapy, Occupational Therapy) profession has a history of 100 years in the world. The occupational therapy treatment method aims to regain pre-existing mental, social, and physical abilities of people whose abilities in daily life are or may be restricted due to diseases, accidents, and developmental disorders. Occupational therapy aims to improve the potential abilities of people through various activities and to ensure their participation in daily life activities and independence in these activities. They carry out professional practices in order to reduce the employment problems of disadvantaged groups such as the elderly, the disabled, street children, substance addicts, and people with AIDS, to increase the quality of life related to health in all age groups, and to make environmental regulations. Occupational therapists achieve this goal by improving the ability of individuals and communities to perform activities that they want, need, or are expected of, or by arranging the activity or environment in a way that better engages people. Occupational therapists try to improve people's skills such as self-care, dressing and eating by teaching special techniques, if necessary, in order to enable people to gain functional activities and provide training on the use of assistive devices. It supports patients to create a safe and highest level of independence by making necessary arrangements in their homes and workplaces. The aim of our occupational therapy department is to train professional staff who are creative, adhere to ethical rules, and become researchers, who have basic medical, psychological, and occupational therapy knowledge and can perform clinical practices, who rehabilitate with activities that enable people to be healthy and productive in all areas of life and thus increase their quality of life.
