A Nutrition and Diet Specialist is a qualified professional who, in line with the principles of nutritional science, devises individual and collective nutrition plans and programs to protect and improve the health of all individuals throughout growth, development, and lifespan, and to enhance their quality of life. Researches, evaluates, and finds solutions to health problems arising from nutrients, food, and nutrition. Ensures that existing food resources are used in accordance with economic and health principles. Informs and raises awareness among individuals and society about these issues, aiming to foster the adoption of physiologically, psychologically, and sociologically healthy lifestyles. They also plan, train, implement, and monitor diet programs based on natural and therapeutic food compositions, suitable for medical and surgical treatments for congenital and acquired diseases and other special conditions.
The aim of the Nutrition and Dietetics Thesis-based Master's Program at the Istanbul Health and Technology University Graduate Education Institute is to plan and conduct research in the field of nutrition and dietetics tailored to changing health needs, and to contribute to universal science by interpreting the results. To train scientists who are or will be employed as research assistants/experts, and to train knowledgeable, enlightened, competent and competent nutrition and dietetics science experts who can contribute to national policies on a national and international scale. |
