Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the nursing principles course is to help the student to comprehend the basic philosophy of nursing and the role of the nurse in the health system and his/her role as a student nurse. To gain knowledge and skills related to the basic theories, concepts, principles and methods in nursing care, To provide the student with the basic theories, concepts, principles and methods in nursing care.

Course Content: This course includes basic concepts, (human and basic needs, health, disease, environment). nursing and professionalization process, healthy hospital environment, infection control, life findings, medication applications, fluid electrolyte balance, application of intravenous fluids, blood transfusion, hyperalimentation, respiratory needs and nursing care, movement of healthy and sick individuals Knowing the need, hot and cold applications, individual hygiene and nursing care, communication with difficult patients, excretory needs of healthy and sick individuals (urinary excretion, intestinal
excretion), nutrition, metabolism and nursing care, perioperative patient care, wound care and dressings, critical thinking and nursing process, sleep and nursing interventions, deathand the concept of loss and nursing interventions.
