Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To provide theoretical knowledge of basic histology and the normal morphological structure features of cells and tissues in the human body at the microscopic level.
Course Content: Structure-function relationship of covering and gland epithelium, connective and support tissues, bone and cartilage tissue, muscle tissue, nervous tissue. Introduction to organ systems, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, lymphoid system, endocrine system, nervous system and genital system structure-function relationship.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Defines the structures of the tissues they will encounter in their professional lives.
2) Interprets basic information about histology of body systems.
3) Interprets the relationship between body structure and function in order to understand drug side effects.
