Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To understand the historical, institutional and structural framework necessary to analyze the current problems of the Turkish economy.
Course Content: The important processes of change and development observed in the Turkish economy will be associated with international economic and political breaks. In this context, processes and concepts such as national economy, statism, liberal harmony, imported substitution period, open capital domination period, financialization, hot money period will be processed with details.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to examine problems with scientific methods and to provide effective solution suggestions.
2) To be able to link the important change and development processes observed in the Turkish economy with international political and economic breaks.
3) To be able to discuss the historical, social and political origins of the current structural problems of the Turkiye Economy.
4) To be able to offer solutions to the problems of the country with what they have learned in the field of economic policy.
5) To be able to work as an individual who can follow the agenda in the public sector and private sector and continuously develop himself
6) To be able to grow up as a democratic individual who respects human rights and to act by considering the general well-being of society in its approach to economic problems.
7) Ability to put theoretical knowledge into practice and share it with other people
8) Use Turkish as an effective scientific language.
9) Gaining the habit of following the economic agenda and being able to interpret this agenda.
10) Interdisciplinary work and research.
