Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: In this course, it is aimed that students learn powder medicines, preparation of powder medicines, stamps, packages, granules, tablets, capsules and their types, eye, ear and nose preparations.
Course Content: This course covers powder medicines, preparation and types of powder medicines, granules, tablets and formulation, excipients and their functions, tablet coating, tablet controls and tests, capsules and types, eye, ear and nose preparations.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) To be able to access, evaluate and apply current scientific knowledge in the field of pharmacy
2) To be able to convey information to patients, health personnel and society on all issues related to medicines
3) To be able to have advanced knowledge about therapeutic effects of active pharmaceutical ingredients, drug forms, pharmacokinetic properties and stability
4) Recognise the quality assurance issues and processes of all pharmaceutical products, control and standardisation
5) To be able to use the knowledge and equipment related to the administration and use of the drug to the patient, to provide rational and safe drug use
6) To be able to have knowledge about the production of natural and synthetic drug raw materials and production technologies
7) To be able to take part in the development and production of pharmaceutical biotechnology and new generation pharmaceutical products
8) To be able to have knowledge about public health, environmental protection and occupational safety
9) Should be able to take part in pharmacy services in the hospital at every stage and ensure the safety of the patient's medication
10) To be able to have knowledge about licensing conditions, data protection, patent issues in pharmaceuticals
11) To be able to gain administrative and technical equipment in every field where the pharmacy profession gives responsibility with the law, to be able to produce solutions to problems in line with scientific data / evidence
12) To be able to use computer programmes and advanced technologies related to the field of pharmacy
13) To be able to follow and evaluate national and international developments in the field of pharmacy profession
