Course Objectives: |
The course focuses on the acquisition of the skills necessary for consecutive interpreting, such as active-attentive listening, efficient word recognition, listening comprehension, focus and concentration, inferencing, note-taking, multi-tasking, written-oral text analysis, mini summaries, hierarchy of ideas, and mind-mapping. The course emphasizes various strategies used in consecutive interpreting, such as paraphrasing, splitting sentences, omitting and generalization along with memory strategies. |
