Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: To ensure that students have knowledge about disasters. To enable the development of projects that will transfer information about disasters and disasters and raise awareness by informing the society.
Course Content: Giving information about the scope of the course
Historical process of disasters
Important disasters in Ottoman and Turkish history
Disaster and risk concepts disaster, risk and reduction of damages
Disaster training and its importance, disaster preparation, disaster response, disaster recovery
Natural and human disasters
Effects of disasters on sustainable development
Climate change and meteorological disasters
Efforts to reduce disaster damages in Turkey and around the world
Earthquake regulation, effectiveness in disaster management
Disaster management cycle, disaster terminology
Coordination in disaster management, emergency and disaster coordination centers
Ethical values in disaster management
General evaluation of the course
