Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the laboratory & R&D internship in chemical engineering is to prepare students to take responsibility for sampling, preparing and analyzing samples; It also helps them gain knowledge and experience on modern analytical devices and methods.
Course Content: What is learned during the internship should largely cover the following items: The history of the institution, its place and function in the industry; Procedures; analytical devices; sampling and preparation methods; analysis of samples; experimental methods; health, safety, environmental, ethical and quality factors.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students will observe the application of the chemical engineering profession in the laboratory and business life, and will learn to transfer the theoretical knowledge given in the training program into practice.
2) Being aware of the chemical engineering profession, its duties and responsibilities will enrich their perspectives.
3) They will improve themselves in social issues such as professional ethics, human health, occupational safety and environment.
4) They will learn the importance of R&D for our country and the world.
5) They will learn the importance of business discipline, teamwork, interdisciplinary cooperation, individual competencies and human relations in businesses, business and professional life.
6) They will improve their oral and written communication skills and understand the importance of computer and foreign language knowledge.
7) In the laboratory, they will learn about quality, analytical devices, sampling, sample preparation and analysis, experimental methods and standardization.
8) They will have the opportunity to observe contemporary techniques and developments.
