Course Objectives: | To provide students with design knowledge they can use after graduation. To equip them with the ability to create error-free designs and technical drawings for production as soon as they start their professional careers, using the knowledge gained in the course. |
Course Content: | Introduction and Basic Concepts The importance of advanced design and its place in the industry General steps of the design process Advanced usage of CAD software New Part and Material Definition Criteria for material selection Defining material properties in CAD software Assembly Applications Assembly techniques and strategies Designing assembly parts and technical drawings Introduction of Different File Types CAD file formats and compatibility File management and sharing Part Drawing for Turning Turning operations and technical drawing standards Drawing parts and generating production drawings Part Drawing for Milling Milling operations and technical drawing standards Drawing parts and generating production drawings Usage of Tolerance Values Types of tolerances and calculation methods Application of tolerances in manufacturing drawings Drawing with Sheet Metal Forming Program Sheet metal forming techniques Drawing and creating drawings for laser cutting and bending Calculation of Bend Allowances Methods for calculating bend allowances Calculating bend allowances using software and formulas Saving Manufacturing Drawings as Project Files Creating and managing project files Saving manufacturing drawings in appropriate formats Cutting Mold Design Design criteria for cutting molds Example cutting mold design Review and feedback of student projects Project Presentations Presentation of student projects Evaluation and feedback |

Material and Manufacturing Knowledge: Gaining knowledge and skills in material selection, manufacturing methods, and tolerance utilization. Technical Drawing Standards: Understanding and applying international technical drawing standards. Management of Manufacturing Processes: Ability to manage stages from part design to production process. Project Management: Practical experience in creating, managing, and sharing project files. Cutting Mold Design: Basic knowledge and skills in cutting mold design and manufacturing. Presentation and Communication Skills: Developing the ability to effectively present projects and communicate with colleagues. These achievements encompass essential skills for students to successfully work in the industry after graduation. |
