Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of this internship is to ensure that students learn and use information technologies well, to ensure that they gain knowledge by seeing computer technologies and applications used in businesses, and to increase students' connections with the industry.
Course Content: Hardware infrastructure of the business / Operating systems used / Network structure / Enterprise resource planning software used / MS Office applications / IT department organizational structure

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Students can use basic information technologies
2) Students will be able to use the communication infrastructure in businesses
3) The student will gain the ability to use enterprise resource planning software used by teams in different disciplines in different sectors.

Course Flow Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Recognition of the company where the internship will take place
2) Learning the general computer profile of the business
3) Obtaining information about computer hardware in the business
4) Obtaining information about the operating systems used
5) Learning the network system in the business, the management and use of this system
6) Examination of business communication system (computer networks, data lines, modem communication)
7) Examining the business organization in terms of software/hardware systems used by departments
8) Midterm Exam
9) Examination of software packages used in the business (SAP, MS AXAPTA, BAAN, Oracle, MAPICS, etc.)
10) Examining the intended use of MS Office programs in business
11) Preparation of Ms Office applications using business data
12) Making programming applications in the software development department, if any
13) Examining computer efficiency in business
14) Computer Reports
15) Final
