Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: 1. Providing students with the ability to set up experimental setups in relevant engineering contexts.
2. Equipping students with the skills to conduct experiments, collect data, and interpret results in relevant engineering contexts.
3. Developing students' ability to create models of systems encountered in engineering practice.
4. Teaching students data collection related to reaction kinetics and concepts associated with reaction kinetics.
5. Instilling in students the knowledge and skills to analyze basic operations problems.
6. Imparting knowledge and skills to students for analyzing heat and mass transfer problems.
7. Providing students with experience in group work.
Course Content: Introduction to Experiments /Applications of Distillation Columns/Climbing Film Type Evaporator/Residence Time Distribution in Packed Columns/
Determination of Rate Equation for Acetone-Iodine Reaction/ Investigation and Modeling of Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Lactose in Milk / Saponification Reaction of Ethyl Acetate/Liquid-Liquid Extraction/Solid-Liquid Extraction
