Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: In line with the philosophy of Istanbul Health and Technology University Department of Nursing and the needs of the country, our aim is to provide students with knowledge and skills about protection from infectious diseases, causes of infectious diseases, diagnosis, treatment and nursing care principles.
Course Content: To provide students with knowledge and skills about protection from infectious diseases, causes of infectious diseases, diagnosis, treatment and nursing care principles.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Defines epidemiology.
2) Knows the basic concepts of epidemiology.
3) Knows the historical development process of epidemiology.
4) Knows the health criteria that vary according to the development level of the country.
5) Defines the usage areas of epidemiology.
6) Gain knowledge about infectious diseases commonly encountered in society and nursing care.
