Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: This course contributes to the planning of sexual/reproductive health services to be provided to individuals in order to maintain their reproductive system, functions and processes in a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. In addition, it contributes to the determination of standards for nurses to fulfill their health protective and caring roles in matters related to sexual/reproductive health.
Course Content: The importance of sexuality in a healthy life, sexuality, sexual health, reproductive health, factors affecting sexual health and reproductive health, gender, gender roles, effects of gender on sexual health, sexual health rights, violence against women, anatomy and physiology of sexuality, adolescence, pregnancy , sexual health in postnatal, climacteric and old age periods, sexual dysfunctions, diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunctions, health protective and caring roles related to sexual health/reproductive health.
