Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: With this course; the students are expected to make oral presentations in accordance with the aim of a given subject and to develop their skills to effectively present their ideas in front of an audience.
Course Content: Students will be able to develop different speaking skills ranging from body language use to active listening by performing impromptu speech applications accompanied with readings from different sources.

Learning Outcomes

The students who have succeeded in this course;
1) Defines the concept of communication and explain the principles of effective communication
2) Demonstrates effective listening skills.
3) Plans and presents a speech.
4) Identifies the difference between different speech forms and their usage.
5) Demonstrates speech skills such as body language, intonation, correct pronunciation and lexical richness.
