Course Purpose and Content

Course Objectives: This course includes; introduction to the course, the importance of foreign language and the introduction of course design and expectations, sharing documents related to the field, translating medical book chapters and articles and explaining and explaining the grammatical structures brought by translation, correct pronunciation studies, conversations with health professionals and patients, sentence design studies.

The aim of the course is to provide students with the concepts and terms that will enable them to read and understand the information, book chapters and articles written in English related to their field. In addition to this, it is to create the necessary foreign language infrastructure for understanding the subjects and expressing themselves professionally. To enable them to use the concepts and terms related to the field within the framework of developing their understanding, speaking and writing skills. In this context, students are asked to read scientific writings and articles related to their field and express their thoughts. They are asked to understand and respond to speeches related to their field of study and to make translations on current issues. Students are given tips on how to understand the subtitles of videos related to their field of study visually and auditorily. English sentence structure and title structure of the literature language, terminology related to the field are provided through audio-visual texts.
